Pancake Day

This Uniting-wide event is held at the Aireys Inlet Community hall annually on Shrove Tuesday.

Pancakes (with a choice of lemon and sugar, maple syrup or strawberry topping) and tea and coffee are served in a café-style setting. Community members and folk from other congregations find this a great opportunity to catch up for a chat over some delicious fare.

After school, droves of Aireys Inlet Primary School students arrive at our “shop window” for take-away pancakes, many declaring them to be the best pancakes they’ve ever eaten.

Members of our small congregation make up the core team of workers, easily spotted in eye-catching yellow aprons. We are ably supported by helpers from other denominations, the Surf Coast congregations and community members.

There is always plenty of fun going on between the pancake chefs in the kitchen, while the “front of house” is a smooth operation.

Profits from the day are forwarded to Uniting Geelong.
