The Surf Coast churches are all missing and mourning the death of a very special member of the Aireys Inlet congregation. A huge crowd gathered at Tuckers Funeral Chapel early this month to pay tribute to the life of Joan Richardson.
Joan was a congregational elder for many years and was a great believer in the need for the church to be part of its community. Joan was a most gifted musician, who gave generously of her talents to play the organ for worship and was choir leader of the Split Point Singers. Along with her husband Lachlan, Joan was the instigator and key organiser of the UnitingCare Pancake Day, for many years conducted the children’s Advent Workshop and edited the parish quarterly newsletter, along with other contributions too numerous to mention.
Joan also had a special gift for hospitality and always had a warm welcome for visitors and newcomers to town. Our loving thoughts are with Lachie and the family as they mourn their loss and adjust to this next stage of their lives.
